Update Thredd Expiry Date

The Update Thredd Expiry Date endpoint enables you to update the Thredd expiry date of a card. The Thredd expiry refers to the expiry date held by Thredd, which is calculated based on a validity period. This date is different from the physical expiry date printed or embossed on the card. The physical expiry date is based on the card scheme’s validity period, while the Thredd expiry date is based on the product-level validity period defined in the ProductMaster record. The calculation of this date is based on the card validity period from Thredd Portal.

📘

Note

This endpoint does not allow you to change the physical expiry date embossed on the card.

You can update a card expiry date by making a PATCH request to the endpoint. For example:

{base-url}/api/v1/cards/{publicToken}/thredd-expiry

The body should include the new expiry date in the newThreddExpiryDate field, with the date in a YYYY-MM-DD format.

📘

Note

If the date needs to be brought forward, there needs to be a minimum of two days from the current date when setting the newThreddExpiryDate field.

See the below example request.

{
  "newThreddExpiryDate": "2026-09-02",
  "updatedBy": "John Bloggs",
  "reason": "Example reason for the extention."
}

If successful, a 200 response is returned with the new expiry date.

{
  "NewThreddExpiryDate": "2026-09-02T12:27:27.681Z"
}
